Abstract:The microstructure and room-temperature mechanical properties of TiC-particulate-reinforced TIMETAL 62S matrix composite produced by melting process have been investigated. It shows that the structure of TiC p/TIMETAL 62S consists of acicular alpha phase, little amount of beta phase and TiC particles; TiC particles can change matrix structure, and promote composite structure fine; this composite has good strength and ductility at room temperature, and good comprehensive effect.
