Abstract:Because of its low density, high strength, good corrosion resistance, good electrical conductivity and high catalytic activity, the Pt/Ti electrode has been widely used in aerospace, ship building, electrolytic, chemical industry and so on. Platinum is usually prepared on titanium by the following methods: mechanical processing, explosive combination, chemical vapour deposition( CVD),physical vapour deposition( PVD),resistance welding, electroless plating and electroplating in aqueous solution. The basic principles, processes and application of these methods were briefly introduced. Moreover, the characteristics of the Pt/Ti electrodes prepared by these methods were also respectively summarized. Controlling the microstructure of the Pt layer and the Pt/Ti interface was still the key point for the preparation of the Pt/Ti electrode.
