Recent research progress in NdFeB magnetic powders for bonded magnets has been reviewed. The major methods for preparation of NdFeB magnetic powders are introduced, and their technical merits and limitations are presented and compared with each other. The effects of the processing routes, the NdFeB composition, and the addition of various transition elements on the microstructure and magnetic properties of the magnets are discussed. On this basis, summary remarks are presented regarding both the future research work and the possible routes to promote further the magnetic properties of the NdFeB bonded magnets
